Who is the founder of BuggyBeds?

BuggyBeds was founded by two female entrepreneurs, Veronica Perlongo and her fifteen-year business partner, Maria Curcio.

BuggyBeds was developed after Veronica and Maria learned how prevalent bed bugs had become in homes across the United States of America.

Once bed bugs have entered a person’s residence, it is only a matter of time before they become fully infested, and cases are fast increasing.

BuggyBeds, on the other hand, is a product that has the potential to tackle a global problem.

Previously, BuggyBeds were available at Home Depot and Burlington Coat Factory. They had previously declined a $5 million bid for trademarks and patents.

What Happened to BuggyBeds at Shark Tank pitch?

BuggyBeds inventor Maria Curcio and her partner Veronica Perlongo present their BuggyBeds on Shark Tank Episode 402.

They want a Shark to assist them in accelerating their business.

Maria and Veronica entered the Shark Tank pitch seeking a $125,000 investment in exchange for a 7% stake in their BuggyBeds, worth $1.8 million.

Following some deliberation, Mr. Wonderful requested the women to leave the room while he lobbied his fellow Sharks on collaborating on an offer.

When Maria and Veronica return, Kevin makes an offer of $250,000 for 25% equity shares and invites the other Sharks to join in on the deal.

Kevin has “in” with Daymond. Barbara makes an offer of $150,000 for 15% equity shares then withdraws her offer.

Mark speaks up and suggests that they all work together on a deal; Robert accepts, and the lads welcome Barbara back in; she accepts.

Maria and Veronica accept a $250,000 offer for 25% equity in BuggyBeds and exit the tank with a deal from all five Sharks.

What Happened to BuggyBeds after Shark Tank?

Maria Curcio was interviewed by Beyond the Tank shortly after BuggyBeds premiered. She needed the Sharks’ assistance to speed up retail distribution.

The deal with five Sharks was finalized and BuggyBeds were in roughly 60 Home Depot shops before to recording; they quickly expanded to 350 stores and will soon be in more.

Prior to the recording, just 75 Burlington Coat Factory stores carried the product; currently, BuggyBeds is available at all of their locations.

In addition, they have distributor agreements in over 40 countries and a significant institutional wholesale channel.

Maria agreed to a second interview with Shark Tank after learning that her episode would be re-aired on 12/7/12.

The firm has created new goods over the years. They also produce flea and tick traps, mosquito repellent bands, and lice repellent bands in addition to the Bed Bug traps.

The company sold a majority interest to Rock Mountain Capital in April 2021, removing the Sharks from their ownership percentages.

Maria and Veronica are still “major minority shareholders of the firm and actively involved in the business.” The company is still in business with annual revenue of $4 million as of January 2022.

Net Worth of BuggyBeds

The company valuation was $1.8 million during the pitch, after the investment done by all five Sharks the company worth $1 million. As of January 2022 the company has a net worth of $10 million.
