When there is a mess in the backseat, it might be difficult to transport the kids from one location to another.

There are several cures available to help prevent car sickness, but sometimes simply rolling down the window for some fresh air isn’t enough.

Les had an epiphany while traveling with his wife and children. There has to be a better approach to cope with vehicle sickness in children.

He and his wife were sick of dealing with the stink and filth whenever one of their children became ill. They invented the Carsik Bib.

The Carsik Bib is a straightforward product. It’s a type of “barf bag” that doesn’t require you to use your hands.

Les thought that by putting a little bag to the end, any and all vomit would be contained. It seemed like a wonderful concept to him.

What happened to Carsik Bib at the Shark Tank Pitch?

Cookson appeared on Shark Tank season 2 episode 7 in search of a $30,000 investment in exchange for 15% ownership of his firm. This equates to a $200,000 valuation.

He does a presentation for the Sharks using a primitive, cartoonish handcrafted replica of a child’s face installed on a car seat, which makes the Sharks laugh.

Then he says that around 58 percent of youngsters suffer from vehicle sickness, so parents are not unfamiliar with this problem.

He then shows how the bib is connected like a traditional bib and how the bag captures the vomit, preventing the mess.

The bag comes with a cushion for absorbing fluids and eliminating odour.

Cookson then distributes Carsik Bib samples to the Sharks. They all look at it with smiles and chuckles, evidently not taking it as seriously as Les hoped.

To the amusement of the other Sharks, Daymond John tries on one of the bibs.

Putting aside the humour for a moment, Kevin O’Leary is curious about the expense of producing the goods.

Cookson claims that the manufacturing cost is $.19. He made the prototypes himself out of household items and has been selling them on his website. He has sold around 160 pieces.

When Daymond John learns that Cookson has only put $1,300 of his own money into the venture, he replies, “I couldn’t give you $30,000 for this.” He’s gone.

Kevin O’Leary, who isn’t interested in having the Carsik Bib on his résumé. It’s a borderline ridiculous plan in which he couldn’t justify investing $30,000.

Jeff Foxworthy is concerned about the dangers of wrapping a bib over a child’s neck. He loves Cookson and wishes him “all the best,” but he’s not coming back.

Robert Herjavec shares Foxworthy’s worry about the product’s safety. He’s gone.

Only Barbara Corcoran is still alive. “I have a five-year-old, and I can’t see putting this around her neck,” she says. “I’m leaving.”

What Happened to Carsik Bib after the Shark Tank Pitch?

Despite his loss on Shark Tank, Les promoted his new ideas on the Carsik Bib’s social media network. He launched a few Kickstarter campaigns for new items, which have proven to be fairly successful in recent years.

Les started selling art objects including camera obscuras and optical toys.

For a few years, Cookson utilized the Carsik pitch’s fame to promote his site, Ancient Magic Art Tools, where he offers optical toys, camera attachments, and other items.

The Carsik website has been redirected to a Kickstarter page that raised funds for a “camera obscura” in 2017.

When these components convey contradictory signals, the brain is unsure whether they are immobile or moving. Their brain’s perplexed reaction makes them ill.

Does sitting in the front seat help car sickness?

Sitting in the front seat of a car tends to lessen motion sickness since the front wheels of a car are responsible for its direction.
