As of September 2022, Dreamland Baby’s founder Tara Williams has a net worth of $10 million. In December 2021, the company announced it had reached $10 million in lifetime sales.

What is Dreamland Baby and Who is the founder of Dreamland Baby?

Dreamland Baby is a brand of weighted baby blankets that are designed to help fussy babies calm and sleep. The blankets, also called sacks, are filled with poly pellets sewn into the top cotton layer to impart weight. Tara Williams, a mother of four, is the founder and owner of Dreamland Baby.

Williams came up with the idea for her product after struggling to get her fourth child, Luke, to sleep through the night.

One night, she laid a large blanket on him when he was being fussy and it quickly soothed him down, leading her to create the first version of Dreamland Baby with the help of her mother-in-law.

The sacks are designed to be worn like overalls or a sleeping bag, with the weight on the front (or top) to promote back and side sleeping. They work similarly to swaddling, but with gentler pressure.

The blankets can help newborns relax and reduce tension. Dreamland Baby blankets are now sold for $79 on Williams’ website and on Amazon. The product was developed with the help of physicians, NICU nurses, and qualified sleep experts to ensure safety and effectiveness.

In June 2019, Williams took a risk and funded $24,541 on Kickstarter to get her business off the ground, and the campaign was fully funded in just 72 hours. Dreamland Baby also exceeds all Consumer Product Safety Commission criteria in the United States.

Dreamland Baby Shark Tank pitch

In an attempt to expand her business, Tara approached the Shark Tank investors in episode 24 of Season 11. She requested $100,000 for a 10% stake in her company, which was valued at $1 million.

Despite handing out samples and telling her story, the Sharks were concerned that the product hadn’t sold well outside of Kickstarter, and that Dreamland Baby was still just a product rather than a viable company.

Although Kevin O’Leary, Kevin Harrington, and Mark Cuban all exited the deal, Lori Greiner made an offer of $100,000 for 25% equity in the company. Tara countered with a 20% stake but eventually accepted Lori’s counter-offer of $100,000 for a 22.5% stake in the firm.

However, the deal with Lori Greiner never came to fruition, and as of November 2021, Dreamland Baby is still selling directly to customers on their website. The company briefly limited its Amazon inventory due to concerns about knock-off items being sold on the platform.

Nonetheless, the company declared in December 2021 that it had reached $10 million in lifetime sales, and its products can now be purchased at Target, Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, Baby list, and Amazon.

Competitors of Dreamland Baby

Net Worth of Dreamland Baby

The company was valued at $1 million during the pitch, since then the company’s net worth might have been rising due to an increase in sales of the company which had $10 million in lifetime sales.
