The self-proclaimed “Chief Culinary Ninja” of Ice Age Meals claims that the company is worth one billion dollars and that Amy’s Kitchen was the blueprint for his business strategy.

It is impossible to predict what Ice Age Meals’ net worth will be in 2023. However, based on its past performance, it is likely that the company will continue to grow and generate more revenue.

What is Ice Age Meals? Who is the founder of Ice Age Meals?

Ice Age Meals is a business that delivers frozen meals, which are based on the paleo and zone diets. These meals mainly consist of meat, vegetables, seeds, and fruit.

The founder and owner of Ice Age Meals is Nick Massey, who attended culinary school and worked at some of the top restaurants in the country.

While working in Aspen, Colorado, he had the opportunity to work with Lance Armstrong, and he combined his passion for CrossFit with the dietary knowledge he gained from Lance to establish his own business in 2012.

Nick has been cooking for 20 years and puts his heart and soul into preparing each meal, treating them as if they were for his own family.

He and his team create delicious and nutritious meals in small batches using grass-fed and organic meat and vegetables, which are then frozen and shipped.

According to Massie, all of Ice Age Meals’ products are “convenient, tasty, and athlete-friendly food” that can be microwaved.

He believes that frozen food is both cost-effective and delicious and even worked as Lance Armstrong’s personal chef for a time.

Each meal is prepared by Massie himself, and if it still tastes great after being frozen, the recipe is scaled up for production.

The company is based in Reno, Nevada, and currently sells around 5,000 meals each week, with plans to increase production to 5,000 meals per day thanks to a new freezer.

Butternut Squash Lasagna, Thai Meatball Curry, and Grass-fed Tri-Tip with Yams are among the many dishes available, with individual meals costing $10.99 and 12-meal sample bundles priced at $129. Massey’s ultimate goal is to produce 100,000 meals per day.

Ice Age Meals Shark Tank Pitch

In episode 2 of Season 8 of Shark Tank, Nick Massey presented his firm, Ice Age Meals, to potential investors. He requested $1 million in exchange for a 10% stake in the company, which had a $10 million valuation.

During his pitch, Nick shared the story of his business and offered the Sharks samples of his butternut squash lasagna, which they enjoyed.

However, the Sharks were curious about the sales figures, given the high valuation. Nick revealed that he had made $1.5 million in sales in a year and had impressive profit margins.

When asked about the $10 million valuation, he asked the Sharks to trust him, but that approach did not work.

Kevin O’Leary was the first to exit, followed by Mark Cuban, who loved the story and the name but thought the valuation was too high. Daymond John also declined to invest, and Lori Greiner cautioned Nick about his valuation.

Ultimately, Nick left the Tank without a deal. However, the exposure from the show led to a surge in sales, with the company making over $100,000 in just three hours after the episode aired.

In a month, they made nearly a million dollars, and the company continues to thrive, generating $3 million in annual sales as of November 2021.
