The Pop Pacifier Shark Tank Update | The Pop pacifier after Shark Tank

What is The Pop Pacifier?

The Pop Pacifier is a medical-grade pacifier that, when dropped to the floor, pops into a protective container. The silicone ensures that germs and other pollutants are kept out of the pacifier.

It’s a straightforward and simple-to-use device for parents who are concerned about the sanitation of the pacifier placed in their child’s mouth. Its single-piece design mechanism guarantees that dirt has few or no entry points.

Who is the founder of The Pop Pacifier?

The firm was founded by Nicki Radzely and Janna Badger. Janna Badger attended Brigham Young University and Nicki Radzely attended the University of Central Florida.

Nicki formerly worked as an Oncology Product Specialist at Johnson & Johnson.

Janna, on the other hand, interned at New Deal Design in interior design. They currently have co-run their firm, Doddle & Co.

The pair came up with the concept while Badger was on tour in Seoul, South Korea. They spent nearly a year perfecting the design and sourcing the components, but in the end, they invented and patented the pacifier.

Badger and Radzely collaborated for nearly a year to create and source the device, which was granted a patent in November 2015.

They raised the funds to launch their company, Doddle, from a successful Kickstarter campaign that raised $22,708 in early 2016.

Doddle & Company now only sells the Pop and tethers, but the ladies hope to expand their product line in the future.

The startup is generating a lot of interest and great news. This year, the device earned an Innovation Award from the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association for its bacteria-free silicone structure and ability to snap into a protective container.

For $9.99, anyone may purchase a single Pop, or for $18.99, they can get a two-pack. They are available in six vibrant hues. The tethers are $9.99 apiece and do not come with a protective shell in case they are dropped.

Radzely decides to submit her concept to Shark Tank investors for assistance in spreading the word and obtaining distribution through large box stores. Radzely enters the Shark Tank seeking $250,000 in exchange for a 5% stake in her firm, which is valued at $5 million.

She then shares her experience, pitches her product, and distributes samples. They were placed in their mouths by Daymond and Robert. Radzely continues by informing the Sharks that the product is patented and is currently available at Nordstrom and Buy Baby.

While they successfully raised $25,000 on Kickstarter, the firm had been established for only four months prior to recording. Each unit costs $1.20 to produce and sells for $9.99.

The first Shark to speak out is Daymond, who cites the high valuation. Kevin chooses to provide $250,000 in exchange for 10% equity shares.

Sara then offers $250,000 in exchange for 15% ownership of the firm. Sara claims that the additional 5% is because she will be able to showcase it to millions of women on her website.

Lori joins Sara in providing $250,000 for a 20% stake in the firm, meaning 10% each.

After negotiating with Lori, Sara, and Kevin, she accepts Kevin’s offer of $250,000 for 10% stake in the firm; they both strike a deal, and Radzely exits the pitch with a deal.

In April 2018, the firm became embroiled in a huge bank blunder when its bank, JP Morgan, blocked their accounts.

The business was unable to collect payments, pay vendors, or pay workers. After two weeks, the bank apologized and stated that there had been an error. They wrote letters to the company’s vendors informing them of the issue.

Since that incident, the corporation has been stable and relatively unremarkable. As of November 2021, they are humming away and generating revenue of $1 million each year.
