Comfy Shark Tank Update| Comfy after Shark Tank
What is Comfy?
Comfy is a wearable blanket with full sleeves and a hood, providing an extremely pleasant and easy-to-wear method of staying warm.
The Cozy Comfort Company LLC sells only one product; they sell only one product because that is all they require, but it does come in a wide variety of styles.
Marketed as a blanket that can be worn like a sweatshirt, the comfy is made of ultra-soft material and sold at an affordable price point.
Michael and Brian Speciale, brothers from the Phoenix, Arizona area, were first-time founders with no prior experience developing or marketing a product. Brian worked as a television producer.
The product and company have expanded to the point that they are now both full-time employees. The Comfy brothers attribute their motivation and support to their family.

Michael Speciale was just divorced and was living with his brother, Brian. Michael observed his nephew reclining on the sofa watching television while wearing one of his father’s big sweaters while hanging out with Brian and his son.
For warmth and comfort, his knees and arms were snuggled in.
Taking note of how comfortable and pleasant it appeared, the two single fathers began discussing an adult version.
A neighboring Sherpa blanket provided as inspiration for the material they might utilize to construct an enormous sweatshirt or blanket combination, and so was born the concept for The Original Comfy.
The item is not yet in production. The brothers launched a Kickstarter campaign last summer in 2017 but immediately abandoned it due to a lack of preparation.
What Happened to Comfy at Shark Tank pitch?
Brian and Michael decided to propose the invention to Shark Tank investors for collaboration after developing it.
Brian and Michael are seeking $50,000 for a 20% stake in their firm, which is valued at $250,000.
The brothers launched into a song extolling the virtues of the Comfy as “a blanket that doubles as a hoodie.” As they don the huge sweater, they receive a few giggles and cheers from the Sharks.
With the unavoidable comparison to the Snuggy, they claim that the soft material and pocket set them apart.
They distribute samples to Sharks who express an interest in the product. They dislike what follows, and hence have no sales.
However, it is a fresh new product and they are now accepting their first order. Lori claims that she conducts a lot of business with the Snuggy people after presenting the tale about how they designed The Original Comfy.
Mark believes the brothers are not prepared, and so he goes out as well.
Robert is impressed with the concept and is aware that the Snuggy has sold over 20 million units he takes a gamble and offers $50,000 for 50% of the firm at a valuation of $100,000.
Barbara takes the stage and offers $50,000 for a 30% stake in the firm, valued at $166,667. Michael counters with a $50,000 offer for 25% stake in their business, but Barbara rejects.
Kevin makes a statement, as if he’s intrigued, but then walks away.
They accept Barbara’s offer of $50,000 for 30% ownership of the firm after some back and forth, and they all finalize the deal.
