How to be confident; 7 Easy Ways

Confident people know who they are and are not afraid to show it. They are not arrogant, but they like themselves. It’s not a secret that we all like to be around confident people.  Here are 5 ways to help you become more confident:

How to be confident

Have excellent Mental Strength.

Self-confidence is a state of mind that can be achieved through intentional action. Allotting time to nurture your mind, body and spirit (preferably one hour a day) can be done in a variety of ways. I prefer to read, exercise and meditate in the morning. If you’re not taking time for yourself, then you’re allowing someone or something to shape your view of the world.

Acquire New Skills

Since confidence is often directly linked to abilities, one of the best ways to build your confidence is to get new skills or experience and step out of your comfort zone.

Growing your skills will in turn grow your confidence. And please, as you work on building your skills and expertise, don’t mistake a lack of perfection for a lack of ability. No one is perfect. But if you’ve got a perfectionist bone in your body , it can make you think that just because you’re not the best, that you’re not good at all.

Take action.

Confidence is built on accomplishment. If you achieve small and big goals, you’re going to feel much better about yourself. Fear can be paralyzing. When you stand at the edge of the water; waiting, wondering, worrying if you can do something, you lose confidence. Your fears creep in and you begin to doubt yourself. But when you take a leap of faith, jump in and get started, your confidence immediately builds.

Action builds confidence and each step you take builds it further

Get healthy

Besides benefitting your health in general, exercising helps memory retention, improves focus, helps manage stress and prevents depression. Living a healthy lifestyle has an everlasting impact on your confidence as it does help your self-esteem. It is about feeling good, making the right choices, and being confident in your life.

Drink more water. Stop eating junk food. Start walking. Join a gym. Restock your pantry and refrigerator with only your favorite healthy fruits and vegetables. You do not have to become a fitness guru to benefit from the confidence-boosting effects of a healthy lifestyle.

Dress for success.

No matter what level of business you’re in, it’s important to dress for the client you want, rather than the client you have. The most successful people get up early and dress like they’re off for a day at the office and it’s reflected in their attitude. When you look good, you feel good and you’re more confident, too.
