Plufl is a human-sized dog bed-style design bed that is meant for human beings. It was created by Yuki Kinoshita and Noah Silverman, who met while students at the University of British Columbia.

They both graduated in 2022 and like many other students, they like to take naps throughout their day. The idea for Plufl came about when Silverman wished there was a product for him to catch a nap in that was like the massive dog bed.

The company name, Plufl, is derived from a mash-up of “fluffy” and “plush,” which were words used by Silverman and Kinoshita’s friends to describe the product.

Plufl provides relief from stress, exhaustion, anxiety, etc. Hence the design of the Bed is like a dog bed. It costs $399 but it costs $140 landed. They did over $280,000 on Kickstarter.

In Shark Tank Season 14 Episode 5, Yuki and Noah entered with ‘Plufl’ and asked Sharks for $200,000 for a 10% Equity at a $2 Million Valuation. Mark Cuban and Lori Greiner invested $200K in ‘Plufl’ for 20% Equity each.

After going through more than 10 different prototypes and business planning, the company was officially incorporated in March and Plufl found its claim to fame through a viral Tik Tok.

The video became so widely circulated that the two young businessmen found themselves with an opportunity to go on ABC’s “Shark Tank”.

What Happened To Plufl At Shark Tank?

Yuki Kinoshita and Noah Silverman presented their business pitch for Plufl, which sells oversized dog beds and blankets for humans, on Shark Tank Episode 1405. They asked for $200,000 for 10% of their company.

Although not all the Sharks were convinced to invest in Plufl, Mark Cuban and Lori Greiner offered $200,000 for a 20% stake in the company. The deal was accepted by Yuki and Noah.

As of December 2022, the deal with Mark and Lori has not closed yet. However, Plufl has sold over 3000 units on a pre-order basis due to high demand. While Plufl got a deal on Shark Tank, some fans were not convinced with the product.

They felt that the price of buying dog beds for humans was too high at $399 per bed.

What Happened To Plufl After Shark Tank?

As of December 2022, the deal with Mark and Lori has not closed for Plufl after their appearance on Shark Tank.

Yuki Kinoshita and Noah Silverman introduced Plufl, their human-sized dog beds for napping, to the Sharks in Season 14 Episode 5. They were seeking $200,000 for 10% of their company and ended up accepting Mark and Lori’s offer of $200,000 for 20% – 10% each.

After the show aired, Plufl launched a Kickstarter campaign that raised around $290,657 by May 2022. Beta testers had positive feedback about the product, and it gained traction on social media platforms like TikTok.

However, there is no update on whether Plufl has been successful in the market or if they have closed a deal with Mark and Lori since December 2022.

They have sold over 3000 units and are on a pre-order basis for January 2023 due to high demand. Mark Cuban and Lori Greiner invested $200K in Plufl for 20% equity each during their appearance on Shark Tank Season 14.
