Snarky Tea Shark Tank Update | Snarky Tea after the Shark Tank Pitch
What is Snarky Tea?
Snarky Tea is a tea brand dedicated to providing a snarky, attitude-filled tea drinking experience.
Their selection of boldly-named teas includes the following flavours: The F**k Up, Get Your Sh*t Together, Namaste Mother F**ker, Calm The F**k Down, Fierce B*tch, and Get Your A**In Bed.
Snarky Tea was launched in 2016 by Jenni-Lyn Williams, our Chief Snark Officer.
Jenni-Lyn is a native Philadelphian who worked herself into the ground while completing her MBA and raising her children.
It was a difficult existence, and she drank more coffee the more agitated she became.
After experiencing anxiety and mid-day jitters, she visited her doctor, who advised her to consider switching to tea in order to reduce her caffeine intake.
Eliminating coffee seemed fatal, and the tea brands she encountered in stores sounded as if they were designed for forest fairies, not actual women.
Jenni-Lyn was unable to find useful tea selections that suited her personality, and so Snarky Tea was formed.
Williams obtains her tea from a China-based FDA-registered importer. She then transports the raw tea to Philadelphia, where it is blended in a USDA-licensed and inspected facility.
They may purchase the tea at any of the country’s independent tea stores, with the bulk of dealers located in the northeast.
Additionally, they’re available on Amazon and the company’s website. Each tin is $12.99 and contains 15 sachets of full leaf tea.
There are several mixes with varying tastes, caffeine levels, and health advantages – such as a calming tea or one that is beneficial for hangovers.

Jenni-Lyn, who is quite pregnant, arrives demanding $150,000 for 25% of her business.
This shows a valuation of $300,000. The Sharks are duly amused once she explains her products. As she does with any meal or beverage, she provides samples to the Sharks.
Mr. Wonderful adds that the tea is intended for females only after they have taken Calm. Down with the F**k. Jenni-Lyn claims it’s purposeful, but Kevin isn’t a fan of shutting off 50% of the market.
Bethenny adds that women purchase the majority of tea in their houses, although Robert and Mark assert that they purchase tea on a regular basis.
Jenni-Lyn responded that she was selling both tea and attitude.
Bethenny believes the message is muddled; tea is a sedative, but Snarky Tea was not utilizing that aspect.
When they begin discussing statistics, things get more intriguing. 85 percent of sales originate via the business’s website, while 15% come from about forty physical and mortar locations.
She has generated over $200,000 in sales over the last eight months. Kevin O’Leary inquired about the cost of client acquisition, which Jenni-Lyn disclosed to be $11 per customer.
Bethenny enquired as to the retail pricing of Snarky Tea, and Jenni-Lyn informed her that a package of 15 sachets would cost $12.99, which Bethenny considered excessive.
Mark Cuban inquired about the cost of producing one box, to which Jenni-Lyn responded that each one cost $4.34 to make.
Lori informed Jenni-Lyn that she did not feel the ‘Gimmicky’ branding was viable in the long term, and despite her admiration for Jenni-Lyn for being ‘Clever and brilliant,’ she was leaving.
Robert swiftly responds, stating that the position is “too specialized” for him.
Mark believes Amazon will establish their own brand and smash her, and hence he has withdrawn as well.
Kevin and Bethenny are left.
Kevin believes he can integrate Snarky Tea into his “something great” platform, but it will cost him a fortune: $150,000 for a 50% stake.
Bethenny offers the same offer, citing her distribution networks.
Jenni-Lyn approaches them and asks if they’d want to partner up; they accept, but Jenni-Lyn wants them to get to 42 percent.
They assert that they are not. After Mark warns Jenni-Lyn not to give up 50%, Bethenny asserts that Jenni-Lyn must have faith in her partners. After a little pause, she accepts and the trade is completed.
Snarky Tea after the Shark Tank Pitch
Snarky Tea did finalize the transaction with Kevin and Bethenny, but they haven’t announced it publicly.
Despite Bethenny’s reservations, Jenni-Lyn has not diluted her message.
She is selling mugs that read “It’s Mutherf**cking Tea Time!” as evidence. A monthly membership service is one of the new additions.
In April 2020, the firm bought BRUW, a cold coffee filter device featured in season 10. She converted the cold filter coffee machine into an iced tea maker by repurposing it.
Kevin O’Leary has been actively pushing Snarky Tea.
Mark spent $50,000 for a 25% stake in BRUW; the purchase price was not revealed.
Around the time of the acquisition, she produced “Feel Good” teas – with titles like “Cleanse” and “Detox” – which are practically same to the Snark teas. As of June 2021, the firm is still operating and has revenues of around $1 million.
